Deploying OpenStack Clouds
Since Rackspace and NASA started OpenStack in July 2010 with the support of 25 technology industry leaders, the project has seen unprecedented growth, showing a true industry need for an open source, open standards alternative to expensive, proprietary cloud technologies. In less than 18 months, OpenStack is being deployed by major public cloud providers including AT&T, Internap, Korea Telecom and Rackspace, as well as dozens of enterprise IT departments. In this session, Jim Curry, GM of Rackspace Cloud Builders, and Jason Cannavale, Principal Architect for Rackspace Cloud Builders will provide:
- Overview of OpenStack, including the compute, storage and networking components, and the benefits of an open cloud standard
- A demo of the OpenStack Dashboard and key features exposed
- Real challenges, lessons and best practices from the frontlines deploying OpenStack clouds for Sony Computer Entertainment America and eBay’s X.commerce
- How you can get involved in the OpenStack community
This will be an interactive session, please bring your questions!
